Cyclone Gabrielle Erosion Assessment

Last week LandVision staff were in the Hangaroa Catchment, Northern Hawkes Bay to assess erosion damage nearly 2 years on from Cyclone Gabrielle. Of note was the higher severity erosion occurring on the northerly aspect mudstone hills, which reflects the direction of rain when the cyclone hit. Drone imagery captured in the above picture highlights the challenges farmers still face with many slips yet to heal.
