Last year, staff at LandVision had the opportunity to take their expertise overseas to Australia. This exercise was to help develop a number of Farm Environment Plans for farmers in Western Australia and Victoria.
Of interest on these farms was: the ongoing reliance of feedpads; the predominant use of flood irrigation; the challenges of providing shelter over feedpads during summer; and the management of sensitive clay soils which are highly prone to pugging and compaction.
The development of these plans was a massive learning experience for not only the Aussie farmers but LandVision staff as well.
