LandVision and the Sustainable Land Use Initiative (SLUI)

Since 2005, LandVision has mapped in excess of 550,000 ha in the Horizons Region at paddock scale (1:7,000). This has been part of the Horizons Regional Council’s Sustainable Land Use Initiative or SLUI which aims to protect the region’s hill country soils from moderate to severe erosion.

LandVision is proud of the work done with farmers to develop Whole Farm Plans (WFP’s) as part of this initiative. By keeping the valuable soil on the region’s hills there are opportunities to not only enhance water quality but also increase productivity.
