We all have strong farming backgrounds and many years of experience in whole farm planning, resource mapping, nutrient management, and environmental management. LandVision is entirely autonomous within the New Zealand agricultural industry and consequently offers impartial and confidential advice.
Lachie has many years experience in land management and forestry. He has a Masters in Agriculture Science, majoring in soils, erosion processes and land resources. Lachie has a strong background in farming systems, agricultural engineering, nutrient and pasture management.
Some of Lachie’s achievements include facilitating numerous “Soils Underpinning Business Success (SUBS)” groups in the lower North Island. He was a member of the development team of the “Farmsure” programme, and a facilitator of the Taranaki Tree Trust.
Lachie has also undertaken many sand dune restoration programmes, provided advice on erosion control and riparian management, developed and issued resource consents, and managed forests through the Manawatu/Wanganui area.
Lachie has a passion for land management. He understands farming systems and is committed to working with farmers to maximise returns under a sustainable landuse regime.
Doug was raised on a mixed dairy, drystock and sheep farm in the Bay of Plenty and, after spending 14 years in the health industry, returned to his agricultural roots. In 2007 he completed his Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Agriculture at Massey University, and has been working with LandVision Ltd since.
Doug received the ‘Massey University 2006 Practicum II Award’ for his report writing, and was one of the recipients of the Advanced Sustainable Land Use Scholarship from Horizons Regional Council.
Doug has since completed the Overseer Advanced Nutrient Management Course at Massey University as well as the Farm Dairy Effluent Management Course. He has also been involved in facilitating some of the Beef and Lamb LEP workshops in Taranaki and Manawatu/Wanganui regions.
Doug brings to the team a strong understanding of soil science and agriculture systems, along with plenty of enthusiasm and humour. He is keen to share his knowledge of soil characteristics and processes, in a way that helps farmers to maximise their returns whilst meeting environmental obligations.
After many years working as a personal assistant and administrator in the education, justice and finance sectors, Janet decided she wanted a change and joined the LandVision team. She loves the outdoors and was brought up on a hill country property in Raetihi and spent time farming in the Turakina valley.
Janet has a strong interest in the rural industry, which she is now combining with her great administration, co-ordination and computer skills. She has been with LandVision since 2007 and now has a thorough understanding of all facets of the business. Janet utilizes the GIS applications to provide the team and clients with high quality maps and products, and also ensures the LandVision office runs smoothly. She provides the support and humour for the office, and is greatly enthusiastic about developing the mapping capabilities of LandVision.
Suzie has a comprehensive background in soil nutrition and land resource management, along with a strong affinity with the farming community. She grew up on a sheep and beef farm in North Canterbury before completing a Bachelor of Agriculture Science at Massey University, specialising in soil science and land management.
Her experience ranges from practical farming through to nutrient management and advisory roles in the fertiliser industry. She has also worked in the landscape industry specialising in native vegetation restoration projects for erosion control, and has completed the Overseer Advanced Nutrient Management Course at Massey University.
Suzie brings to the team a thorough understanding of nutrient management systems and their integration with the farm business at a practical level. She is very keen to assist farmers to incorporate contemporary environmental practises into their farm systems with effective and viable solutions.
